Accented with fuchsia, the delicate lavender of jacaranda blossoms swirls in a Balinese sea of blue. Desak Nyoman Parwati designs this brilliant robe in an original batik motif she calls cakrawala, which means "atmosphere." The flattering front-wrap style, wide sleeves and matching belt make this rayon robe a perennial favorite.

This handpainted batik robe is a truly original work of art. Sunlight, water, dye and temperature all factor into the look of the finished robe. This should be considered a unique design made especially for you. Colors and pattern placement will vary.

Comfortable Elegance”

The robe is so comfortable - it's the first thing I put on each morning and I feel hugged. The design is unique and playful, yet the colours are somewhat subdued, so it is an eye catcher with its style and elegance rather than screaming colours. This is the second robe I got from the same artisan (the other is the Misty Javanese Forest) and probably not the last one. Love them both!

I like so much, I bought twice!”

This dress is so comfortable and soft. Stylish and lovely to wear on special occasions with heals or casual with flats or sandles. I get compliments whenever and wherever Im wearing it. I meant to purchase a similar dress in a size smaller, due to weight loss. Bought this by mistake. Dont even care! The colors are stunning, havent faded. A favorite for sure.

Pefect cover up for beach or pool and I love that each one is hand made and therefore unique. This is a high-quality sarong. I cant wait to take this on my next vacation.

Preserving Traditions

Preserving Traditions

For eleven years Desak worked with a batik artisan learning all aspects of the process, from wax painting to dyeing. From her, she learned not only the art of batik and textile design but also how to care for her workers. In her workshop, Desak and the older artisans generously teach their art to the younger artisans, preserving for another generation this UNESCO cultural treasure.
