Zandra Lorena Sajbin designs a pendant of extraordinary beauty in honor of Maya astronomy. She crafts the pendant by hand with sterling silver featuring the quetzal bird and a temple over the black jade side of the pendant. The green jade side features a crescent moon. Maya astronomers sought to predict eclipses, which they likened to the galaxy taking a breath and which influenced human's conscience.

“Christmas Gift”

Christmas is still a few weeks away. Can't wait for my wife to open this beautiful pendant necklace. She loves fine crafted Jewelry and this necklace is just that.

“Superior craftsmanship”

For some time I have been searching for the perfect jade ring, looking through the pages of my favorite jewelry store, comparing details and photos, Having bought several lovely Zandra pieces for gifts for my daughter as well as myself--so I appreciate the quality of Zandras work. The size of the stone is perfect, and the silverware is lovely. My only disappointment is with the color, which I thought would be close to the light color of my Zandra earrings. My ring is not pale green as the description claims. It is deep green with no sign of any mottling. I know jade color varies, and Im wearing the ring right now with a sweater that matches nicely. Just remember that the jade in the picture is the same style but not necessarily close in color. That said, this artist is one of my favorites.

From a humble artist to a respected member of her community, Zandra captures the spirit of the Women's Empowerment badge. "After my husband died in 2017, I knew I would need to provide for my three children. I've made their education my top priority and plan to send each of them to university. I have also welcomed helpers into my workshop, and support them with fair wages," she says.
