Signed Lake Landscape Painting from Guatemala, "Between Waters"

Nestled within the Sierra Madre mountain range, Guatemala's famous Lake Atitlán is captured in all its splendor in this painting by Hugo Pichiya. He works in a pictoric folk art style, painting from a hillside trail where the lake unfolds. Just beyond a village, two mountains rise in the lake's center. Says the artist, "Guatemala is a beautiful place to become inspired; in each small corner there is a marvelous landscape. We are surrounded by nature, volcanoes, mountains, and flora and fauna; we are very fortunate. It is because of this that I want to transmit these elements into my work."
