Signed Arowana-Themed Painting by a Balinese Artist (2019), "9 Arowana I"

Swimming just under the surface of a river, a school of arowana fish is bathed in the light of the sun, which diffuses into rays as it passes through the water. Balinese artist Mahmud paints this scene in an expressionist style, utilizing an wonderful rainbow of colors that contrasts against the darkness of the surrounding waters. Says the artist, "A couple of arowana fish came out from their nest, followed by other arowana fish. They tend to move to other places after nesting for a while. Also, they tend to find sunlight to warm their bodies."
