Adorned with a bird looking down resting its long beak on the nose, the "Borre" mask is an original creation by Ghanaian artisan Sefah Annwhar. Meaning "rain" in the Gonja language (Ghana), the sese wood mask is carved by hand and painted brown and black. Annwhar uses clay to create the textures that distinguish the mask's face.
