Artisans from the Angel Ceron Artisan Association recreate the elaborate stone sculpture known as the "Aztec Calendar" or "Sun Stone." Discovered in Mexico City, the original massive stone is on display in the National Museum of Anthropology and History. The Aztecs (or Mexica, as they called themselves) believed that the sun struggled daily against the forces of darkness. They aided the sun through human sacrifices. This beautiful replica is sculpted in clay.
A loop at the back facilitates wall display.
You can find our ceramic plaque 'Aztec Sunstone' by Angel Ceron Artisan Association in wall decor categories such as Museum Replica Wall Art and Ceramic Wall Art. Enjoy exploring these sections for other Novica treasures.
Microcredit Financing
Angel Ceron has received 3 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2700 and the most recent for $2850.
