Seeming to smile, a mother dog with wrinkled skin rejoices in a litter of wriggling puppies. Artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association depict the itzcuintli, a cheerful, barkless species prized by ancient man. Sculpted in clay as funerary offerings, they accompanied their masters in death to aid the soul in crossing rivers of blood along the road of the dead.

“Ancient Dogs”

I bought three of these Aztec dog statues. All very good quality and I love them. My guests have always made wonderful comments. The little ones I have in my living room in different locations. My favorite is a larger dog laying on its belly s which is on my glass table in my covered patio.

“Another wonderful piece for our collection”

Angel Cerons depiction of the mother dog with her puppies reminds us of our beloved Besenji. Our little dog was very opinionated about her life and what she liked or did not like, but she was always a true and faithful companion and a cherished member of our family. We have purchased several of Angel Cerons pieces, and each is a treasure.

“Excellent Olmec Wrestler”

Highly skilled interpretation of Olmec Wrestler. Love it. Angel Ceron Artisan Association has some marvelous pieces. My son gave me another sculpture that I cherish as well. Buy with confidence. The packing job was extraordinary! Ive never seen anything like it! If youre worried about fragile ceramic pieces, dont be. Ive never seen such a professional packing job.
