The wide, hammered sterling silver band is engraved with the baksara or ancient letters Sa Ba Ta A, which represent the four cardinal directions of East, South, West and North. Rope-like edges and oxidized contrasts make this ring a standout.

“Elegant, beautifully made and culturally rich.”

This hammered silver band engraved with the Balinese aksara script for the cardinal directions, North South, East and West is absolutely magnificent. The cardinal directions, firmly rooted in Balinese and Javanese culture and tradition have a place in everyday life in that part of the world, and if one is not familiar with these traditions they are well worth looking in to. A visual reminder of the importance of balance and harmony in daily living as represented in the engraving of the letters for the four directions, this outstanding ring by Nyoman Ariawan is a testament to the beauty and elegance of traditional Balinese silverwork.

“Exceeds Expectations”

The wolf head was more detailed than I expected. The chain is thick and very strong, but still pretty light. I love how the jaws are the clasp. Genuis! Truly a superior piece of craftsmanship!
