Indonesia is home to two species of Asian elephants, one of which is only found on the island of Sumatra. Inspired by these magnificent beasts, Balinese artisan Made Mulyani creates this stunning wall relief panel. Hand carved from local suar wood, the circular panel features floral motifs around the edges, and a beautifully-clothed elephant gracing the center, with lush vegetation around it.

“Beautiful!”

I bought the relief panel Nobel Elephant from Made Mulyani. It took about 3 weeks or so to get here, but it was worth the wait. The craftsmanship is superb - better than I expected. A beautiful piece. The color of the wood is beautiful and warm - slightly darker than shown in the photo. I purchased this as a gift but am considering buying one - or another by this artist - for myself.
