Salihu Ibrahim in Ghana presents this fascinating decorative broom, inspired by those used by the Guro peoples of the Ivory Coast as flyswatters. The sese wood handle is hand-carved to resemble a Guro tribal chief, right down to his long beard. Palm leaf petioles or stems are then secured to the handle using black cotton cloth. The broom features a loop for hanging on the wall if desired.
