Native to tropical western Africa, Terminalia superba, or ofram wood, is prized for its workability and finish. Here, Robert Aidoo-Taylor of Ghana uses ofram wood to craft this mask of his original design.
The mask is named Gyau Atiko and is inspired by King Gyau, whose hairstyle was imitated by many including kings and princes from around the world.
