Known as Ya'ax Chich, natural jade was regarded as a sacred stone by the Maya people. They believed three jade stones separate the sea from the sky. Guatemala's Zandra Lorena Sajbin preserves Maya traditions with these beautiful earrings. Set in sterling silver, the light green gemstones evoke a verdant forest.

For some time I have been searching for the perfect jade ring, looking through the pages of my favorite jewelry store, comparing details and photos, Having bought several lovely Zandra pieces for gifts for my daughter as well as myself--so I appreciate the quality of Zandras work. The size of the stone is perfect, and the silverware is lovely. My only disappointment is with the color, which I thought would be close to the light color of my Zandra earrings. My ring is not pale green as the description claims. It is deep green with no sign of any mottling. I know jade color varies, and Im wearing the ring right now with a sweater that matches nicely. Just remember that the jade in the picture is the same style but not necessarily close in color. That said, this artist is one of my favorites.
