By Abdul Aziz Mohamadu, this imposing mask is carved and painted by hand. The face is brown and black, while richly embossed aluminum adds beautiful textures. "This mask is used by several pygmy peoples of the Congo, formerly known as Zaire. Hunters wear the mask to disguise their faces and this helps them catch their game," the artisan explains.
