West Africa has a rich tradition of masks, embodied in a wall hanging by K. Baka. Each has its meaning – protection, strength, peace, joy and love, for example. This beautiful batik depicts a mask with an adinkra symbol on the forehead. Mmsusuyidee means "that which removes bad luck" in the Twi language and is a symbol of good fortune and sanctity.

Another piece I just love in my living room. The colors are vibrant and it is large enough to make a statement. Catches everyones eye when they enter the room.
