Jose Arriola crafts this delightful 12-piece nativity scene in hand-painted ceramic. Dressed in the handwoven apparel worn in Santa Maria, the angel Gabriel joins Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus. The Three Kings visit the manger scene and a shepherd gazes in awe at the Holy Family. Keeping the child warm are a kneeling ox and a donkey. "I'm a person of fervent faith," the Guatemalan artisan confides. "Crafting these nativity scenes bring me great joy."

“Beautiful angels”

I love the Earth Angels. Each represents earth, air, fire, water, with appropriate designs. Larger than I expected. Im a repeat customer of Jose Arriolas fine craftmanship and will be again. Beautiful on my Guatemala tree, a small tree with ornaments from that wonderful country.

Jose creates the most beautiful ceramic ornaments and figurines. His family has lived in Antigua for more than 100 years and he takes great pride in practicing the same ceramic techniques his ancestors used. He wishes to help this tradition continue and he teaches anyone in his community who has an interest in learning.
