For my former teacher on her 86th birthday
I personally love carnelian since I first saw it in the wall panels inside the Taj Mahal. It's such a beautiful but someone mysterious stone and I love the fact that it glows when light is shined through it. My teacher, Joan, is a very elegant lady with still black hair and one striking streak of white at the front. I knew these would look fabulous on her. AND THEY DO!

Looks lovely on my pinkie finger
I love special rocks, and finding something like a ruby in its natural form is a real treat. Plus, it's really cute as a pinkie ring. Mine is more rose color than red, and it's not shiny like the picture, but it sports kind of a soft sheen. It's a unique look, so interesting in its simple, artful presentation.
