Summer Apparel
After a snowy winter here in Colorado, I’ve been so ready to ditch the heavy sweaters and winter hues for my brighter, lighter summer style.
While “less is more” might be our instinct as we prepare our summer wardrobes, the reality of summer style is about layers. Think about how variable and often unpredictable summer weather can be. On even the most sweltering days, layers and long sleeve options can be helpful to protect your skin from harmful rays. On the other hand, layers can also help keep you warm on breezy days and can be used to transition your outfit from a daytime look into something more fitting for cooler evenings.

Tees and Tanks
Tees and tanks feel like an obvious go-to when it comes to preparing your summer style. Black and white t-shirts and tanks are true wardrobe staples. If possible, I recommend having at least one of each.

Skirts and dresses are your perfect summer style staples for beating the heat. They also make great transitional pieces. Wear as a statement on their own, or easily and fashionably layer under a jacket or shawl.
Tunics
Tunics also make for great summer style options. While they look amazing on their own, try layering them over a cute tank top. That way, you can add and remove layers depending on how you feel. Choose something brighter for a true statement piece, or pair something neutral with some colorful jewelry for a pop.
Batik Shirts

I recommend avoiding anything that is too thick or heavy. Lightweight, breathable fabrics such as cotton, or silk will be your best bet for this time of year.
